Building Your Legacy for Life Business
So how are you going to build your Legacy for Life business? Will you pay someone for Legacy for Life leads? Will you call people who do not know you in order to build a massive downline in the Legacy for Life opportunity? Will you attempt to recruit everyone you know as a distributor? What about advertising?

If you are involved in the Legacy for Life opportunity, you have probably been advised to do all of these things to build your Legacy for Life business. How is this working for you?

When I was in the MLM game, I found that, for every 100 leads I called, maybe 1 or 2 were vaguely interested. The rest were not happy to hear from me, and many threatened or abused me on the phone. Not a great way to build a business.

And recruiting family and friends? Forget it! You will find that your family and friends are the last people who will have any confidence in you when you try to recruit them. Their answer will usually be: If you become successful then I will consider it.

As for advertising: almost impossible. The MLM companies are usually paranoid about allowing any of their distributors to advertise, especially on the internet. If you had an advertising idea, it had to be approved by the company.

Hey, I thought this was MY business!!

And when I discussed all this with my upline, the usual answer I got was: Get 100 no's and you are closer to the next yes! Just keep calling! Recruit everyone who comes within 3 feet of you (the Three Foot Rule)! Show the plan! Then show it some more!

This is a business plan?

After a while, it dawned on me that this MLM business model was severely flawed. The only thing we as distributors were taught to do was to recruit more distributors by selling them on the concept of buying from themselves and showing everyone they know how to do the same.

At first glance, it sounds good. But think about it: what we are really doing here is building a network of other salespeople who are buying the products simply to play the money game and allow them to earn commissions.

Is this a real business? What business in its right mind operates in this manner? Any real business will try to get customers to buy their products, not a platoon of salespeople. Regular customers who purchase the products simply because they like them, and have no interest in selling the products or becoming a distributor - this is what builds a real and stable business.

Yet whenever I tried to run my MLM business in this manner, my upline would put all sorts of obstacles in my way. And the company itself was no help. The message was always the same:

1) Recruit everyone you know or see as a distributor
2) Buy all our training books and tapes
3) Attend our conventions

None of this was of any benefit whatsoever in building a strong and stable business. It stands to reason that a network of salespeople will give up in disgust after a while, when all their customers are other salespeople! Unless you are really good at motivation and willing to work 24/7, you will lose money.

Another problem I found was that the company products were usually much more expensive than similar products on store shelves, which made it even more difficult to get customers anyway. The only way to sell the products was to promote the concept of buying from yourself and showing others how to do the same.

Does this sound familiar? Are you ready to give up? Have you already given up in disgust and vowed never again to venture into the MLM world? I know I did, after trying many different MLM opportunities and running into the same problem over and over.

Recently I was introduced to a new way of building an MLM business by a company that understands how a real business is built. This made so much sense that I joined up as soon as I saw it!

We do not buy leads. We do not cold call people who have no interest in starting a business.

We buy customers. Paying customers. Customers who like the products. Customers who buy the products on a regular basis. Customers that earn us commissions, for life.

We do not have to market to these customers. We do not have to follow up with them. We do not have to encourage them to buy more products. Our MLM company does all that for us. This is called co-operative marketing.

We also work together as a team to attract people who are interested in building a business. We show them a better way. And wow, are we building a big team!

It is so refreshing to talk to people who are interested and eager to start a business! The difference between how I was doing business before and how I operate now is like night and day.
